BP caps dome believed to be source of oil sheen

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - BP PLC said Thursday it has capped and plugged an abandoned piece of equipment that is believed to be the source of a sheen spotted near the site of its massive 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

ROVs investigate possible sheen source

NEW ORLEANS - Remote operated vehicles deployed from the offshore construction vessel Skandi Neptune collected oil samples on Wednesday from the underwater site of the Deepwater Horizon incident to determine the source of a surface sheen discovered last month.

BP settlement expected to move forward

Patrick Juneau, the Lafayette attorney appointed to take over the BP claims process from Kenneth Feinberg, is optimistic about the fate of the massive BP settlement in the works for thousands of Gulf workers who were affected by the 2010 BP oil spill.Juneau tells The Houston Chronicle that only 100 to 200 oil spill claimants have opted out of the settlement so far, a figure that indicates both parties will likely close the deal:
