BP Profit Push 'Root Cause' of Gulf Spill, Witness Says

BP Plc (BP/)'s push to maximize profits and cut costs at the Macondo well was a "root cause" of the explosion that led to the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, a safety expert who studied the disaster said.

BP oil spill settlement offers surpass $2 billion mark

More than $2 billion in settlement payments have been offered to businesses and individuals who suffered losses as a result of BP's Gulf of Mexico oil spill, according to a federal court filing by the Lafayette lawyer in charge of the claims process.

Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council Announces Public Engagement Sessions in Gulf States

The Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council (the Council) today announced the dates for upcoming public engagement sessions to provide early opportunities for initial input into the Comprehensive Plan for Gulf Coast restoration. Public engagement sessions will be held in Mississippi on February 19, in Louisiana on February 19, 20 and 21, and in Florida on February 28. The Council will announce additional dates and locations via the Council's website as they become available.

Frank J. Aloia, Jr. Speaks at the Rotary Club of Fort Myers-Sunrise about BP Claims
